We have a stunning opportunity for a Copy-based Creative Director at a very well-established Kenyan agency based in Nairobi. The agency is part of a renowned global group and boasts a super portfolio of accounts including FMCG, Financial and Government. This exciting hands-on role will have you very involved in producing work as well as guiding and mentoring your team. This is a client facing role and your presentation skills will come in handy in new business pitches. While the work is Through-the-Line, the successful candidate must have had Digital experience. As CD you’ll be responsible for great creative work with rapid turnaround. You’ll oversee the output of the creative department leading by example with relevant ideas and constantly inspiring the creative team to produce high standard of work while generating ideas of your own. We’re looking for someone with strong organisation skills and an understanding of the clients’ business so that it successfully impacts the bottom line for the agency.   • Look for business opportunities for current clients and potential clients
  • Participate in preparation of presentations to ensure good presentations on behalf of the agency

  • Develop and utilise resources and processes to ensure maximum growth of the agency business
  • Regular informal reporting to the Managing Director on all aspects of business, agency, client etc.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports
  • Communicate frequently and effectively
  • Maintain professionalism at all times with clients and within the agency
  • Ensure punctuality and timeliness to the office and to meetings
  • Ensure that you and your team are in formal business attire when engaging clients (the only exception to this is Friday: Dress Down Day)
  • Have a solutions culture, and of course passion and enthusiasm.

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Copywriting or relevant qualification from a reputable institute
  • An excellent creative portfolio showing award winning campaigns executed across a variety of media
  • TTL and Digital experience
  • Exceptional communication skills written and verbal
  • Strong conceptual skills
  • Strategic thinking that can deliver great campaign ideas
  • Multi-tasking skills necessary for working on concurrent projects
  • Staying on top of the latest trends to be at the forefront of innovation
  • Team management
