A dynamic, brand leader fashion retailer is on the lookout for a Head of Creative for their marketing department.  As Head of the creative studio you will boast a highly conceptual art direction and graphic design portfolio as well as strong management skills. This is a superb opportunity for someone who can bridge the gap between creative and management. The role will see you overseeing/managing a team of Art Directors, Designers, Digital and DTP. Responsibilities

  • Graphic Design & conceptualising of creative briefs
  • Art Director for concepts on all shoots
  • Overseeing all creative work within the Studio which is responsible for the design and production elements for multiple brands
  • Manage the Graphic Design team
  • Manage DTP and re-touching team
  • Work closely with management across the business, particularly in Merchandise and Visual Presentation departments

 

Requirements

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Recognised 3-4 Degree/Diploma in Visual Communication Minimum 5 years plus industry experience
  • Experience managing a creative studio
  • Management skills – essential
  • Ability to direct, delegate and review creative work within a project team
  • People and team focus, working well with people both internally and externally
  • Excellent graphic design and layout skills
  • Ability to plan and forecast the workload for design team
  • Highly aware of industry trends and new techniques
  • Eye for excellent design and ability for idea generation
  • Strategic approach, as well as visually creative – must be a strategic thinker
  • Background and experience working on fashion retail brands within an advertising agency or in-house studio
  • Lead projects and mentor other team members
  • Knowledge-sharing, supportive of creative team members, inspiring
  • Confident communication ability on all levels
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Technical knowledge on styling, photography, TV Commercials, production, digital – programme literate and very knowledgeable with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Art Direction experience – preferably on fashion shoots
  • Attention to detail required
  • Creative conceptualising skills
  • Understanding of Operations
  • Great people skills
  • An in-depth understanding of Print processes
  • Hands on, very comfortable doing the work
