We have an exciting opportunity for a mid-senior Account Director at a fabulous retail food brand’s in-house agency in wonderful Stellenbosch. This fast-paced environment requires a hot, on-the-ball and experienced individual who has worked previously on a Retail account within an Advertising Agency. In this role you will be expected to plan and ensure the smooth production of campaigns – from briefing designers and copywriters, to managing budgets and a team of Creative designers. As the senior point of contact for the in-house agency’s internal “customers”, you will also coordinate the resources needed to service projects, build strategic operational plans and balance the expectations of stakeholders with the execution of creative work.


  • Taking a lead in the Agency’s marketing and advertising strategies
  • Leading a team to provide the utmost level of client service
  • Provide guidance to and be a mentor for the junior staff members
  • Liaising with stakeholders at a senior level on a day-to-day basis
  • Working with other senior managers to complete current campaigns and generate new initiatives for future campaigns
  • Completing projects to a specific schedule and within an agreed budget
  • Using your skills to push the team and the agency, creatively and strategically
  • Analysing, interpreting and presenting results of campaigns and marketing drives in which the agency participates
  • Delivering presentations and writing reports
  • Developing plans to target new customers
  • Developing company’s account strategies, marketing strategies and promotional communication channels to introduce and promote the products and services to potential markets
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities.

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Relevant industry-related Diploma
  • Significant experience in professional client relationship management
  • A background in advertising, design or marketing
  • The ability to plan and strategise at a senior level
  • A persuasive and confident approach to creative projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective team management capabilities
  • A keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints
  • Full awareness of creative processes and techniques – including digital platforms
  • Relevant Marketing Qualification
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and can handle pressure while achieving delivery goals in terms of deadlines and quality
  • A proven track record of successful media and social media campaigns.
