We have a sterling job opportunity for a PR guru at an international PR agency’s Johannesburg office. We are looking for a dynamic Managing Partner to play an essential role in the leadership team. The Managing Partner will be working with the Managing Director and managing the teams in the agency. The ideal candidate demonstrates the skills to be credible at this level, with the ability to influence decisions of the leadership team and be able to stay in control of the role. The key purpose for the position is to build and maintain operational efficiency across the business. Driving optimum client and team satisfaction is at the core and leading the consumer team through setting a pace of execution through an agile, accountable & flexible team. Please note that only candidates with previous PR agency experience will be considered.

  • Support the MD by developing and evaluating short and long term strategic, consumer PR & business objectives

  • Client Service & Account Management
  • Senior point of contact on client portfolio
  • Participate and lead client meetings where needed
  • Plan and participate in client review meetings with team
  • Develop a consulting/advisory capability with client wherever possible
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Review strategy and proposals
  • Identify and build relationships at multiple levels with clients
  • Build high-level knowledge of clients’ market sector
  • Show excellent communication skills: express ideas and articulate concepts, recommendations, etc. in client or team meetings

  • Manage and control Consumer PR expenditure within agreed budgets
  • Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for your business unit
  • Manage customer service activities and staff competence in these areas, so as to optimise and sustain performance, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that teams are managing scope creep and escalate to client when necessary

  • Work closely with MD and financial director to manage all client financial and operational requirements
  • Monitor and ensure that all client contracts are negotiated and renewed in a timely manner

  • Support knowledge transfer, knowledge sharing and up-skilling through relevant & appropriate learning/teaching channels
  • Recruit, train, manage, motivate & develop staff according to company policies and employment laws, and ensure relevant HR procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc.).
  • Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval.

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Tertiary degree/ diploma
  • 10 years + working in an established PR environment (with experience in Social & Influencer management) – only candidates with previous PR agency experience will be considered
  • 5+ years managerial experience
  • Strong consumer and corporate portfolio and understanding
  • Able to lead multiple teams and ensure integration
