We have an exciting Cape Town job opportunity for PR Business Lead at a renowned agency group’s specialist Public Relations division. The PR Business Lead will oversee client management and be a part of the Management Committee. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating strategies, overseeing campaigns, driving and monitoring campaign results, mentoring the PR team and driving new business growth. In this role, you will head up a PR team of 4 people and be part of a broader 360° agency network; working across a portfolio of both consumer and corporate clients. Previous PR agency experience is a must! You will report directly into the Agency MD. The PR Business Lead will also help manage profitability and ensure all work is delivered within budget and on time, ensuring that everyone works within the allocated hours per project.  The agency combines incisive strategy, award-winning creativity and cutting-edge technology to transform their client’s business.   • Develop, implement and manage PR-led marketing communication plans including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Monitor, analyse and present campaign results using 3rd party subscriptions and the agency’s proprietary tools
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
  • Drive innovative thinking to deliver benchmark PR thinking
  • Develop and implement PR policies and procedures
  • Manage the client portfolio
  • Manage and grow the business on existing and new clients
  • Determine KPIs for the PR division
  • Develop and manage team and skills
  • Ensure team understands all relevant channel opportunities (media and influencer)

  • Relevant tertiary PR/Communications qualification
  • 6+ years in a client-facing role in a PR agency
  • Experience in developing PR strategies
  • Experience in client and resource management
    Experience in creating and pitching stories to press
  • Experience preparing and presenting proposals
  • Experience in project management across accounts
  • Ability to review campaign results and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong understanding of industry monitoring tools
  • Broad understanding of the integrated communications landscape
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies
  • Experience in managing social media campaigns
  • Very high standard of written and spoken English
  • Works well in a team and has the ability to lead and inspire team members
  • Comfortable and capable of thriving in an open office environment
  • Willingness to travel when required
  • Highly computer literate, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, ORM tools
  • Client-focused and hard-working
