PR Media Senior Manager : Global Investment Co (520 views)

Reporting to the Head of PR you will position the company as the global industry leader by differentiating its products and services from the rest of the market and driving local relevance in the media

  • Create ‘share of voice’ for the company in key regional client markets
  • Create awareness of the key advantages of programs/products amongst clients and intermediaries to assist in the generation of leads
  • Build acceptance of the benefits of products amongst policy makers and opinion leaders

Primary Responsibilities:

Implement Global PR strategy and tactical plan including media support for publications; new programs; international events; regional campaign and philanthropy program

  • Manage the daily Global Press Office function (including interview requests and media responses)
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with key regional and international media
  • Provide contracted PR agencies and regional marketing teams with guidance and support
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on PR results to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the media database in CRM


Macro: Implementation of Global PR strategic, tactical plan and budget, management of PR agencies and regional teams, development of launch and event support plans.

Micro: Management of media and PR requests from media and regional agencies, marketing teams and stakeholders, crisis communication, global press office management, staff and process management. Media monitoring, analysis and reporting

Minimum level of Education:  

Degree in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing.

Skills required:  Essential

      Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English 

      Excellent media writing, editing and proof reading skills 

      Knowledge and experience of international media 

      Broad international current affairs knowledge 

     Good crisis communication management skills and experience

     Excellent relationship management 

     Excellent project management 

     Strategic and critical thinking 

    Analytical and Reporting 

    Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM

    Ability to think strategically, creatively and have a global mindset and experience

   Good understanding of how international media outlets and PR agencies operate

   Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

   Must be able to work efficiently and decisively under intense pressure

   Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and consistency

   Ability to manage and motivate a team, and ensure outstanding delivery

  Social Media management experience

   Professional, well-groomed, well-mannered, and polished with a positive attitude

   Confidence and ability to engage effectively at all levels especially at very senior international         levels

   A developed interest in foreign investment, finance, economics 

  Minimum 5 years working as a Media, Communications or Senior PR Manager at a national South    African level or Manager in a global marketing role.

  Minimum 6 years working as a journalist or news editor

  Must have national and preferably international media experience

  Required to travel both locally and internationally on occasion.

Must be willing to be available 24/7, work over-time on occasion, including weekends and public holidays

Salary: R30 - 40 000
