About the Role:
The Product Owner is the individual who will work as the bridge between the business and the development team, working closely with the SVP of Product Engineering and the Product Delivery Lead to understand the vision and feature requirements for the product and to develop the necessary scrum-oriented artefacts to ensure that these are met.
Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience – BSc Comp Sci, B.Com, IS, IS Diploma
10+ years’ experience in IT industry
5+ years Product Owner experience
Web Development product experience
Solid Microsoft Office experience
Agile/Scrum experience (beneficial)
Axure experience (beneficial)
TFS experience (beneficial)
SharePoint 2010 / 2013 / 2016 (beneficial)
Drivers Licence and own transport essential
Ability to deal with pressurised and constantly changing environment.
Advanced negotiation skills.
Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks as delegated.
Team-player with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Good understanding of Technology and the IT environment / industry.
Work with key individuals from across our organization to fully understand the requirements and roadmap for the product.
Unpack requirements into associated features.
Work with UI designer to develop the required wireframes/prototypes.
In conjunction with the Product Delivery Lead, create the necessary Stories with Acceptance Criteria to support the Scrum approach.
Participate in regular Scrum/Agile ceremonies.
Maintain and prioritise the Product Backlog through regular grooming and estimation with appropriate stakeholders.
Work with development team members to ensure that the requirements are fully understood.
Engage and educate developers on business context of features.
Engage with QA Team to help develop detail test cases, scenario-based test scripts and develop test data in support of Acceptance Testing.
Assist in troubleshooting application issues; document findings and collaborate with technical administrators to implement solution/fix.
Publish a product roadmap.
Spearhead a product design council for strategic decision making.
