We have a fabulous opportunity for a mid-weight Project Manager to work on world-class global exhibitions in the wine industry. This role is based in Stellenbosch handling exhibitions held abroad. We’re looking for someone dynamic and ‘uber’ organised, someone whose focus is on project management & organisation. The successful candidate will report to the Market Manager Europe and will be responsible for the management of internal projects as well projects that run across more than one international market and organised outside of the activity market. In this exciting role you will be responsible for project management, market research, international and generic shows, financial administration of the applicable projects and customer service relating to projects. You will also fulfil managerial responsibilities including people management and mentoring. In addition you will be involved in general Project Management; development and running of non-show projects and platforms like workshops, seminars and international shows. Financial management of your projects will fall under your scope. You will support Market Managers and country-specific PR agencies while maintaining a high level of both internal and external customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing internal projects as well as projects that run across more than one international market and organised outside of the activity market. The incumbent will, amongst others, be responsible for:

  • Project Management
  • Market Research
  • International and Generic shows
  • Financial Administration of the applicable projects
  • Customer Service relating to projects
  • Managerial responsibilities including people management and mentoring.


The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Degree in Marketing/Business/Project Management or equivalent
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant Marketing and Project Management experience
  • A Cape Wine Academy qualification – an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of the Global and South African Wine Industry and trends
  • Insight and understanding of international countries and cultures
  • Excellent interpersonal relationships, communication and presentation skills
  • Planning, organising and time management skills, business acumen and action orientated
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office and Internet and knowledge of social media
  • Sound financial skills
  • Experience in the Wine Industry will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of key role players and stakeholders within the wine industry and of logistical processes and requirements
  • A valid code EB driver’s license and passport
  • A positive, energetic and professional individual with political insight
  • Willingness to work after hours.
