We have an exciting opening for a senior PR Account Manager or Account Director at a well-respected PR Consultancy with offices in South Africa as well as on the African continent. They specialise in the IT and Technology sector and as such the successful candidate will have relevant IT/Tech experience. As a commercially astute Tech PR specialist you will be responsible for managing PR and Digital Marketing campaigns for up to 5 clients as well as lead a team of up to 3 in the Johannesburg branch. Experience in Enterprise PR, Digital Marketing and People Management (including coaching, mentoring and outputs-based KPI development) is required. This role is would suit someone from a corporate background or a PR consultancy. Although senior, this role is hands-on and requires self-management. If you have excellent writing skills and media pitching experience coupled with extremely high standards this is the perfect job for you.   • Provide strategic input and manage the developments of plans for up to 5 Enterprise Tech clients simultaneously
  • Share your knowledge, process and results with the team continuously for knowledge transfer
  • Write technology orientated press announcements with the support of our professional content specialists
  • Coordinate and manage Digital Marketing campaigns for optimum results
  • Quality assure delivery of the team and its outputs including proposals and pitches
  • Facilitate strategic client workshops
  • Assess the success of plans in implementation
  • Build strong personal relationships with the media
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing events for the team
  • Build the brand through networking and attending the required events
  • Act as a final escalation point and facilitate successful problem resolution
  • Monitor expenditures against budgets to ensure targets are met
  • Key relationships; Clients, Suppliers, Copywriters, Media
  • Monthly reporting
  • Administration of accounts (records, billing etc.)
  • Knowledge Management
  • Select and ensure training and orientation of new employees
  • Ensure a seamless working environment by providing effective cross-functional communication.



The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification – Degree preferable
  • Driver’s licence (and own transport)
  • 6+ years’ relevant working experience
  • Solid experience and an understanding of local tech landscape
  • Existing tech and business media relations – Critical
  • Press and digital writing experience – Advantageous
