We have a super job opportunity for a senior SEO Specialist to work in-house at a financial services company in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate is an experienced digital/SEO professional passionate about their craft. You be called on to elevate the organisation and ensure that the SEO strategy is world class and delivers results. We are looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mind-set someone that takes ownership and accountability at all times. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, monitoring and constantly improving on the company’s SEO strategy. The key focus will be to drive high quality leads into the business.


  • SEO strategy creation and implementation
  • Develop plans to drive content strategy and optimise content
  • Create and manage content (this is all content specifically around keywords we’d like to rank for)
  • Collaborate across functions to deliver content strategy
  • Know best practice and SEO guidelines
  • Reporting (performance and strategy reports)
  • Link building strategies
  • Ongoing keyword research and competitor research on their techniques
  • Have an understanding of white hat and black hat SEO so we never go outside of boundaries
  • Experience getting brands to rank for highly competitive generic keywords
  • Split testing similar pages
  • Increasing page and domain authority
  • Be able to use tools such as GA, Screaming Frog, Deep Crawl and other
  • Sourcing new opportunities
  • Competitor research
  • Be able to write HTML title tags (have good website understanding)
  • Digital integration/ collaboration- work with other team members to help deliver overall digital strategy
  • On-page, off-page and technical elements
  • Indexing website
  • Indexing website with business listing.

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • A relevant degree
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience
  • Proven hands-on experience in SEO strategy and implementation
  • Project management skills and the ability to work in a team or in isolation
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (as you will be working with key brand teams within the organisation)
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to multi-task while giving attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of the Digital landscape and how it can be used to support and develop the brand strategy
  • Results driven and self-motivated
  • Must be innovative, creative and analytical
  • Have solid business acumen.
