We have a super job opportunity for a mid-weight Social Media Specialist to work in-house at a financial services company in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate is an experienced Social Media professional passionate about their craft. We’re looking for someone analytically minded. The successful individual will need to elevate the organisation and ensure that the social strategy is world class and delivers results. We are looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mind-set someone that takes ownership and accountability at all times. This role will see you responsible for developing, executing, monitoring and constantly improving the company’s social media strategy. As such you will need to be up to date with the latest trends across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter and utilise tools to inform the content strategy across these platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Paid social strategy creation and implementation
  • Proper social site tagging implementation in collaboration with the ad ops and analytics teams
  • Traffic, upload, and QA ads, targeting parameters and landing URLs
  • Creating and setting up Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn campaigns
  • Managing and maintaining the campaigns from an end-to-end process (monitoring audiences, bids, account daily and monthly budget caps, leads, CPL, relevancy score, content amplification, sequential storytelling, video views and other important account metrics)
  • Writing social copy and optimising it
  • Managing budget and budget pacing
  • Perform on-going competitor research
  • Reporting (performance and strategy reports)
  • Driving awareness, leads and high quality performance
  • Sourcing new opportunities (provide recommendations and execute strategies for targeting opportunities, campaign structuring in accordance with goals)
  • Experience with social tools
  • Experience in A/B testing
  • Manage social moderation (done in-house)
  • Digital integration/ collaboration- work with other team members to help deliver overall digital strategy
  • Stay up to date with social best practice and trends
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring impact of campaigns
  • Set up and optimise company pages

Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience
  • Proven hands-on experience in social strategy and implementation
  • Project management skills and the ability to work in a team or in isolation
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (as you will be working with key brand teams within the organisation)
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to multi-task while giving attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of the Digital landscape and how it can be used to support and develop the brand strategy
  • Content creation – a big bonus (but not a deal breaker)
  • Results driven and self-motivated
  • Must be innovative, creative and analytical
  • Have solid business acumen.
