Our client a thriving and busy marketing firm based in Sandton, has a huge in-house traffic/production department and they are seeking the services of a traffic/production assistant (med weight) to aid and be in command, this person will look after traffic and production in this busy agency.

Primary objectives:

  • The traffic assistant is generally responsible for the achievement of the submitting of a job successfully into production and meeting the goals as set by the company
  • To provide the critical link between the client services and inputting the job into the production department
  • The traffic assistant is responsible for ensuring that all communication relating to jobs in progress is channeled clearly and timeously
  • The achievement of a professional images in representing the company is of utmost importance at all times
  • To ensure that an accurate and concise brief is received from the client services department
  • To ensure that the supplied material conforms to the specs quoted and is to highlighted and voice any concerns regarding problematic areas
  • All non-conformances to be actions as per the prescribed method in place
  • To ensure accurate and concise origination dates and that they are obtained from the client services team
  • To obtain approved production schedules from planning and communicate these to the rest of the departments
  • To ensure that all requirements are met when processing for a work ticket
  • Ensuring that all internal documents are filled in accurately
  • To ensure the work leaving is of the highest standards and that all time frames and deadlines are strictly adhered to and met
  • To notify sales/clients if desired delivery dates differs from expected delivery dates
  • To open provision work tickers in order commence with pre flights
  • To check all completed work tickets and ensure that the job instructions comply with the clients requirements
  • To focus on origination delivery dates and ensure clients meet their end of the schedule
  • To ensure that all incoming electronic files are checked
  • To communicate with client and sales execs if material does not conform to standard or the companies requirements
  • Submit discs to DTP/creative department
  • Check proofs prior to final dispatching to clients
  • To ensure that all repro costs, etc. are channeled correctly and communicated to the relevant parties
  • To ensure all proofs, di-lines, etc. and any other relevant samples are submitted timeously and correctly into production
  • Ensure all work tickets are updates when necessary
  • Have a daily status meeting with production
  • Ensure customer satisfaction at all times
  • Notify production of any specific client requirements such as colour passes etc…
  • To ensure that DTP and production are aware of the need for key lines, etc. for outwork
  • Ensure delivery instruction are received timeously and handed over to production/operations
  • Discuss with production any complex distributions prior to final dispatching
  • Ensure that all relevant info is captured on the system
  • Provide support for client services whenever a customer requires information or help
  • Keeps sales informed of all happenings between company and customers
  • Negotiate extensions of delivery dates
  • Daily status reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Answer all client queries pertaining to the status of their job or any other related issues
  • Accompany client at all times on any production facility visits
  • Recommend improvements in company policy and procedure to ensure the customer is satisfied at all times
  • Return artwork/disks/samples, etc. to customer after a job
  • Able to work in a pressurised environment
  • Ensuring the department of traffic runs smoothly
  • Visit major accounts once a year to develop strong g relationships with these clients

The traffic assistant must at all times to assure the highest level of professionalism and personal performance possible.

The traffic manager is responsible for performing all traffic control related activities according to the internal policies and procedures of the company.

Salary: R10 - 15 000
