Goooaal!! We have a hot job opportunity for a footie loving, sport mad senior Social & Digital Content Producer in a 100% remote role on a long-term, fixed term contract. This copy-based role will see you producing content for and around a sport focused magazine TV show for a renowned broadcaster and large digital sports entertainment platform in Africa. We are looking for an experienced Social & Digital Content Producer to join their fast-growing marketing team. As the Social and Digital Content Producer, you’ll create compelling marketing content for all of their social media channels, across Nigeria to begin with as well as a number of other countries on the continent. You will manage the creation, delivery and distribution of global content including social posts, video scripts and infographics, including the translation of these assets. You may also be required to manage additional content such as blogs, podcasts, white papers and live events from time to time. You’ll bring their brand, culture, and product stories to life through clear, engaging, and inspiring copy. The successful candidate will join a fully remote team working out of South Africa and the UK. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy focused on building awareness of a new proposition and driving user acquisition through engaging content (rather than a traditional paid media approach)
  • Execute a long-term social media content calendar built around weekly, monthly and seasonal key football moments
  • Writing quality and informative social media content with a focus on sports betting and virtual products. This includes reviews of games and operators, comparison and advice pieces, news and match previews
  • Following requirements and templates provided by Project Managers and SEO department
  • In partnership with a Social Media executive, taking ownership over scheduling and publishing activities
  • Proofing & sub-editing content from other members of the team
  • Researching and fact checking your content
  • Assisting Project Managers with organisational tasks when needed (design tables, reports etc.).

Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience writing for various social media channels. and creating viral content marketing campaigns, ideally within the gambling and or sports industry
  • Experience with additional marketing copy such as web, blog writing, podcasts, whitepapers – a bonus
  • Excellent writing skills with an understanding of how to write for every marketing channel
  • Experience in leading a small of team of in-house content writers or freelancers
  • Outstanding ability to tell engaging, compelling stories through both long- and short-form copywriting / create engagement on social channels
  • A self-starter with a passion for research and learning
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Working understanding of on-page SEO best practices
  • Experience in leading and delivering the global content and social strategy – advantageous
  • Familiarity with the world of sports and betting an asset – advantageous
  • Comprehensive experience with formulating content calendars and producing social media and other digital content
  • Able to run the platforms when required
  • Experience with social media software such as HootSuite, Sprinklr, Sprout Social – essential
  • Able to work with audiences in different countries on the continent who all have their own platforms
  • Able to do some weekend work required
  • Able to start ASAP
  • Able to work fully remotely.
